Community Fish Detector
2025
A community-built AI model trained to detect fish across any underwater imaging domain. 17 contributors standardised 17 open datasets (2M images, 935K annotations) into one corpus and trained an RF-DETR/YOLOv12x detector that outperforms SOTA fish detectors out-of-domain.
SharkTrack
2023 to present
An open-source machine-learning pipeline that analyses underwater BRUVS video 20× faster than manual annotation. Used by researchers worldwide; published in Ecological Informatics.
OceanX Real-Time Deep-Sea AI
2024 to present
Designed and deployed SeaSwipe, a real-time AI platform that classifies vulnerable organisms in deep-sea video as it's collected, with on-vessel human-in-the-loop retraining throughout the expedition.
