Embedded with OceanX as AI researcher on a deep-sea expedition to the Nola Seamount, a little-unexplored area in the Cabo Verde EEZ. Descended to 600m in a Triton submersible while deploying SeaSwipe, a real-time AI platform that classifies vulnerable organisms in deep-sea video streams as they're collected.

Freediving to tag Sharks and Rays

Joined the research team of Jorge Fontes and Bruno Macena to tag sharks and manta rays at the Princess Alice Bank, freediving alongside world champion Fred Buyle. We freedive to attach the iMobula tag, a non-invasive satellite tag that tracks the animal's movement, to study their behaviour.

Shark Expedition in the Revillagigedo Archipelago

Joined a two weeks diving expedition to the Revillagigedo Archipelago Marine Protected Area, in Mexico. We deployed underwater camera systems (BRUVS) to survey shark abundance, and analysing every survey with SharkTrack on the boat, in real time. Setting rigs by freediving.
